Here is an update from Chris Swift on our water-fast project, which raised more than $1,200 for Blood:Water Mission.

Back in mid-spring, a small handful of friends from The Rock were planning how to present a two-week water fast to our church and to the students at Mizzou. Rather than drinking coffee, soda, juice, etc., we challenged ourselves to drink nothing but tap water and saved the money we would have spent. Then at the end of the fast, we collected the money and donated it toward Blood: Water Mission and their “1000 Wells Project” that is taking place across Africa, in hopes to provide clean water to the millions of people who have no access to clean water. The Rock is beginning the process of thinking about our next church plant. We’re putting together a team of people who would like to do research on different cities to help us figure out a good place to plant a church. If you would like to be part of the research team, e-mail ed {{at}} columbiarock.com.

The Rock is going to start sending out a newsletter twice a year to parents and alumni to let them know what has been going on at The Rock. If you’d like to get your parents on the mailing list, e-mail us their names and regular mailing address at rock {{at}} columbiarock.com.

We will be volunteering at Harbor House on Saturday. Meet at the Gillett turnaround at 9:45 a.m. We will be done at lunchtime and are welcome to eat at Harbor House.

We have no more spots left for Habitat for Humanity, so please join us at Harbor House.

We will be having auditions for anyone interested in joining the music team. Auditions are from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 15. To schedule an audition time, e-mail ed {{at}} columbiarock.com.

Volunteering - Once a month, The Rock sponsors a church-wide day to volunteer at a local agency. We’ve added a link on the menu at the right that contains the dates we’ll be doing this and the agencies we’ll be working with.
