The Rock recently put together a storybook about current and past members of The Rock. We are passing it out at The Rock and on campus, and you can also check it out online now. It looks pretty cool.

Melissa Ebberts, 24, was a part of The Rock from 2001-2005. In January 2006, she moved to Santa Monica with several other people from The Rock to plant a church called Kairos West LA. Melissa took some time to answer some questions about the church planting experience. (more…)

Two nights before Eva Ellingsworth went to Leadership Training in 2000 in Myrtle Beach, she was tripping acid and smoking pot with friends. But early in her summer there, God got a hold of her life. In the following three segments, Eva shares her testimony of running from God, about how her life changed at LT and, finally, how she was called to do missions work overseas. Eva is one of The Rock’s missionaries. She works for Great Commission Ministries in Amsterdam in the Netherlands at a church called Zolder 50.

For Tyler Shields, a sophomore majoring in communications and religious studies, his summer at LT was an experience he won’t soon forget. He said it is the kind of fellowship and growth that people dream about and it all happens in the middle of one of God’s most beautiful creations. Here’s more of what he had to say:
Why did you decide to go to LT last year? Why are you returning?
I think in the end it boiled down to giving an entire summer over to God. I felt like if I could be faithful in giving God an entire summer that he would show up in a real way. There was also the added bonus of living in the mountains as well as working at a YMCA that I had visited before and loved.
