Summer 07.

Describe what God did in your life at LT:
God challenged me in a lot of different areas that summer. To sum it up, I grew as a person and matured in my faith. There wasn’t just one specific lesson that I learned at LT but a conglomeration of little things that God showed me about myself, my relationships and my relationship with Him.

Describe the scenery one finds at LT:
The scenery is incredible. I never got tired of the views. From the massive mountains to the tiny details in the plants, trees and flowers. You are surrounded by beauty, and you can feel His love.

Describe the LT experience:
LT for me was a chance to get away from Missouri and a change of scenery, literally. However, I had a different LT experience than most people because I worked as an intern in the Communications Department and I was the only LTer in the building. My LT experience was challenging but also rewarding. I left Colorado with a renewed faith and motivation to keep pursuing the Lord.

I usually don’t post a lot of photos on Facebook but I use Flickr, a more photo-friendly website.

How long have you been dabbling in photography:
I’ve known that I wanted to pursue a career in photography since the first time I used a camera when I was about 13. It’s been my passion since then. The actually technology of photography still blows me away when I think about it. I love learning the science of it so I can appreciate the beauty of the art. I’m always trying to improve my photography and Photoshop skills. Also, it’s my major.

What did you enjoy about shooting pictures at LT:
I enjoyed the new scenery of Colorado. I had never lived in anywhere else but Missouri my whole life, so going from the scenery of Missouri to Colorado provided new landscapes and subject matter to explore with my photography.

Year attended LT: 2008

Describe what God did in your life at LT: God helped me realize my passion for fighting injustice, and He later gave me a better idea on how to fight injustice. I feel my main focus will be on helping those that have been dealing with depression/suicidal tendencies. It’s a very high-stakes type of ministry, but I feel that I’m called to pursue it. Since this type of ministry is intense, many people can’t or won’t deal with this, so that’s why I have to try.

Describe the scenery one finds at LT: The scenery is absolutely amazing. While I might not have gotten out and hiked as much as other LTers did, the view is still outstanding. It’s really hard to put into words, and any photos you see, whether it’s my photos or someone else’s, really doesn’t give it any justice. It’s one of those things that you have to go out and see for yourself.

Describe the LT experience: While the LT experience is great, most people never tell you exactly how difficult it can be. God really does help people grow through trials, and at LT you’ll will be challenged. However, it’s so worthwhile, and I feel my relationship with Christ has grown stronger. One important thing to know is that the more you put into LT, the more you’ll get in return.

How long have you been dabbling in photography: Since February 2003

What did you enjoy about shooting pictures at LT: It really helped me appreciate all that God created, and the photos I took of my friends I met at LT will be kept close to me. While I may not see some of my fellow LTers again, the photos I took will never let me forget them.

When: Sunday, March 22 – Friday, March 27

Cost: $225. This includes your camp fee, gas to and from Memphis and meals except for dinner on Wednesday night and meals on the road trip.

Deadlines: A $50 deposit guarantees you a spot. We have reserved 15 spots, so the sooner the deposit gets in, the better chance you have of getting a spot. You can turn your deposit in at a Rock service or mail it to our office at 2208 Bushnell Dr. Apt. F Columbia, MO 65201. Checks should be made out to The Rock.

The remaining $175 is due by Feb. 1.

The story is nearly unbelievable! We often seem to call it myth or lore. God becomes flesh to initiate a relationship. He wants you and me!

HONDURAS: We will be helping a Great Commission Latin America church in Choluteca, Honduras, with their projects, which include an AIDS orphanage and malnutrition clinic. The info meeting is after The Rock on Saturday, Dec. 13.

MEMPHIS: We will be going to Memphis, Tenn., to help Service Over Self. We will be participating in an SOS urban home repair camp. The info meeting is after Praise, Worship & Communion on Thursday, Dec. 11.
