Year(s) attended LT: One, summer of 2007, but a hopeful many years to come
Describe what God did in your life at LT: Besides introducing me to my future husband (oh, the LT legend), some of the biggest things God did in my life in Colorado was reveal to me my leadership capabilities and introduce me to different forms of worship. While I was at LT, I led a project group. This was a super-challenging experience. It was also my first shot at really leading a group of people. Yet, God taught me so many amazing things through this experience, especially that it was something He had gifted me in and wanted me to be faithful to continue to do. He also opened my mind to different forms of worship, such as painting, poetry, solitude and writing. Every day I was so absorbed in the beautiful nature around me, it seemed to seep out of my heart and into my hands through art. It is something that has stuck with me since LT.
Describe the scenery one finds at LT: God blew me away with his beauty. Every morning I awoke surrounded by the snow-capped mountains. Once a week, I would hike through these mountains, summitting to an overview of even more beauty for hundreds of miles around. From the smallest wild flower in Rocky Mountain National Park to the greatest giant in the park itself, Long’s Peak, I was amazed by His beauty. It completely surrounds you and you’re left in awe.
Describe the LT experience: It is such a unique time in your life. You go to this other state, live like a hippie in the mountains, work for near nothing but eat like a queen (or king). Your hobbies are hiking massive beasts 14,000 feet high, and you get to share your testimony over making a bed. It’s ridiculous! God is so alive and if you ask him, if you allow him, he changes you, shapes you, molds you- all in only 12 weeks. Crazy.
What did you enjoy about shooting pictures at LT: The flowers were my favorite. I can remember many hikes where I was left behind because I got distracted shooting pictures, especially flowers. Chris waited for me.
